How to create SSH keys

Everything is easy, the sun shines.


Windows
-------

Follow these steps to create key file pair for YouSource account:

  1) get & open PuttyGen, the PuTTY Key Generator
    * Start > All programs > PuTTY SSH Tools > PuTTYgen, or if missing, get it at:
    * http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/x86/puttygen.exe 

  2) click generate and move mouse as instructed

  3) as key comment, type username@workstation.it.jyu.fi

  4) save public key (example "username") and private key (example "username.ppk") to some folder for later use.

  5) Putty gen shows the "Public key for pasting..." copy and paste it to YouSource public key form.

  6) That's it!

Phew. Tomorrow we'll install Ubuntu.
